ILOMAA FOREST FARM

ILOMAA FOREST FARM

Sparking joy in the land of joy

ILOMAA FOREST FARM is 40 acres of land in Ktunaxa Homelands (Ta Ta Creek, BC.) Rooted in traditional teachings, owners Becky + Juho practice deep listening and reciprocity, and receive only what the forest offers to create their line of wildcrafted teas, honeys, and other seasonal goods. They are on a mission to support the land and help her thrive in the same way she does for them.

Honoring Juho's first language, ILOMAA is a Finnish word meaning Land of Joy. Their farm practice is a seamless blend of Land-based knowledge and teachings from Finland, along with values they’ve cultivated and learned from teachers throughout Ktunaxa ʔamak̓is.

In partnership with Melissa McFeeters, we created a mark that is inspired by the Sun, Land, and Plants that thrive in the forest. A vibrant color palette pairs with bold shapes that represent ingredients found in nature. A slightly hand-drawn approach gives a touch of imperfection and whimsy to materials.

Inspired by the vibrancy, nourishment and beauty of the forest, Becky + Juho celebrate what nature has to offer, and are constantly finding joy within the Land.
